Photography

Today Scott and I had our engagement pictures with Miyo Strong at Busath Photography and we had a blast. Miyo was great to work with and the hour and a half that we were taking photos with her FLEW by! We took the photos on the Busath grounds and walked over to the Masonic Temple. I can't wait to see all the photos that she took. We will be going in and looking at all the pictures in a couple weeks but Miyo posted a couple on her website (see above) so if you would like to get a preview of what we did you can! ;) I am so excited to be working with her for my bridals and the wedding.

The other exciting thing about the session was that we were asked to help with a super secret project with them. Once I know that it is okay to tell you about it but it was a pleasant surprise (and fun) to show up to that today.  I just hope that it turns out. Oh! One final thing is we have completed our wedding website! Yes, I forced Scott to do it but I think we had a good time in creating it. So check it out!!

Other news is the Kappa Kappa Gamma house is now CLEAN! Yep, the past 2 days alumni & some actives went and cleaned out all the closets and rooms from junk. We completely filled up one very LARGE dumpster, took 2 loads of stuff to the DI and a car full of food to the Utah Food Bank. The other exciting thing that I found out was they have hired a new House Director. It is good to know that the house is going to be clean for her to start in August and we will see how the transition between the old director and this one!

Wonderful Wedding

Yesterday one of my good friends, Jorene, got married in Portland. So with her wedding falling right after the holiday weekend Scott and I decided to make it a weekend of fun. We flew out on Saturday morning and met up with the wedding party who did a tour of wineries just outside of Portland.

That night the girls joined together for a Bachelorette  Party where we went to dinner and did some dancing but mostly enjoyed Jorene getting weird looks from a cup that is in the shape of a man's genitalia (it was 3' tall).

Sunday brought Scott & I being lazy in the morning and I went to a shower for Jorene. After the shower I went back to get Scott where we proceeded to have a great time at the Embassy Suites Managers Reception (aka Happy Hour) and ended up not being able to drive anywhere. It worked out though because we could look out the two windows in our room and see 2 fireworks on one side and 6 on the other.

Yesterday brought a rough morning for us (we ended up drinking a little too much but oh well!) but had time to enjoy the Washington Square Mall and then to Jorene & Jesse's wedding. It was gorgeous and I am so happy that we went.

The weekend also brought a great reunion of my fellow Zeta Epsilon chapter members! There ended up being a total of 8 of us at the wedding and it was great catching up with all of them. Too bad it takes a wedding to get us all together but when we live all over the nation (one in Boston, a couple in Wisconsin/Seattle, Nevada and Utah) it is a little difficult to get together.

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Gorman!

Dress Fitting

Last night was my first dress fitting for the wedding that is now in 99days (double digits!?!?!?!).  It was a lot of fun putting the dress back on and seeing how awesome it is. I would go into more details on the look of the dress but my fiance reads this so you don't get any (if you would like to see it you are welcome to email me though). Anyway!

Going into the fitting I knew a few things that need to be done. Specifically: shorten the skirt (I might have tall shoes the dress is still too long), take in some along the back, tighten the shoulder part and possibly take some in on the top. Well we get in there and the seamstress asks what  we want done so we tell her. She looks at the back and pulls that tight and with that little action we are down to just taking 2" on the top, a new hem, & a bustle for the train.

The next date to look forward to for the dress is August 20th when I go in for the next fitting!!
